How I teach

Sydney North Shore Guitar tuition.

Don’t be scared… The good news is that learning the guitar and bass are easy. Even in a first guitar lesson, a total beginner can usually jump into learning one of their favourite tunes right away. Within a few weeks, of guitar tuition you might even be able to accompany a little sing along at the campfire and after some months you will probably be able to seriously impress your friends.

Of course, as with anything, mastering the instrument is much harder and takes years of dedication, guitar tuition and hard work but there is no reason why you can’t start making simple music right away. There is no one perfect method for learning the guitar. Great guitarists have all approached the instrument in different ways. The one thing they all have in common is passion and lots of playing.

The best method of guitar tuition is the one that inspires you to love the instrument and play it as much as possible. The best songs to start learning are the ones in your ipod right now that you know, love and will be motivated to play. You will be amazed at how easy many of them are. David uses song based learning approach to guitar tuition to keep lessons enjoyable and relevant. Through song, students are also introduced to theory and reading guitar music.

For intermediate and advanced students, things get a little more involved as we delve into improvisation, scales and more complex chords and rhythms. For the adventurous, David also runs a recording studio where he builds on his guitar tuition and encourages his students to have a crack at recording, song writing and or singing.

The direction we take depends upon the goals of the individual student. You might be content in just being able to strum along to a few songs as a hobby or perhaps you are desperate to become the reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix. Either way, David’s guitar tuition can help you get there.
